Dear Mrs. Anderson,
I'm sending you as many positive thoughts and blessings as possible during this especially hard time for you and your family and the/my three essential prayers: "help, thanks, wow"... Help for you to possibly release regret over what you "could have done", because there is nothing... and that is what is so heartbreaking. You are a loving soul and if you suspected the tragedy you would have acted in any way possible. Sometimes there just aren't enough cues or signs, which continues to break my heart. Prayers of Thanks to you for continuing to write this blog... I sat with Josh at lunch at South Lakes and met him only a few times, and even still I have carried his loss and his memory with me for these past four years. Shedding tears over your words is not rare, and I wholeheartedly appreciate, and have grown through you sharing your journey of grief. Wow for what the Josh Anderson Foundation has accomplished - I attend UVa and am a Peer Health Educator and involved with Active Minds, after myself struggling with depression and anxiety disorders. The Send Silence Packing display had an unspeakable impact on our community, and Lauren's words that day on the lawn were nothing short of incredible and brave - and that is only a small segment of what JAF has done! Again, sending much love and just wanted to take a short moment to remind you of how many people love your son and continue to read your words.
One Love

Grace's tribute to Josh is just beautiful. It's good to know that friends think about Josh and remember him. Nothing means more to a parent who has lost a child than this.

Dear Mrs. Anderson,I am so sorry for the loss of your beautiful son, Josh.

Our son went through the same thing yours did, at the same school less than two years later, about the same time as Nick. It was a nightmare for our son and for us, such a brutal and devastating process with only one apparent outcome - transfer to another school.

As you know the county changed its policies after the deaths of Nick and Josh, and those policy changes did help our son. I wanted to let you know that your efforts and caring for the lives of others has made a large impact on our life, and for that we are eternally grateful. I also applaud your mental health wellness program, and will be happy to donate in any way I can.

Sincerely, Tonya H.

I love the tree...it is just beautiful. I have the same JLA on my tree and this year after opening gifts just like every year that I can remember....I expected to hear Bryce on the phone with Josh. Those talks, their laughter will always be in my heart and in my memory. I love pictures as you know and wish I had a picture or a video to share with you but I don't. However, it plays in my mind as if it were yesterday. I had was so happy to read the post about the policies changing and to know that a soul was saved. All of my love
